Feeling overwhelmed by big goals?? In this episode, I teach a 5-part system on how to create a process around setting goals so that you don’t feel overwhelmed or frustrated when big loft goals are on your to-do list. Hit that play button and let’s do this!

Your Mindset Matters

Your mindset around goals is the biggest way you are going to keep yourself accountable to them.

We have to start with your inner self; with who you think you are. We have to start by tricking your mind into becoming the person you want to be before you ever reach that goal. This is called identity-based habits and it is the process of visualizing yourself celebrating the goal before it ever happens…before you even take the steps to get there!

Identity-Based Habits

Forming your identity around who you want to become is going to be the best way to start to understand how you are going to get to those goals. So, let’s talk about how to do this!

To do this, it’s important to set a system around how you view your goals. It’s important to step into the power of saying “I am this person” before the goal is accomplished. By doing this, you not only find a stronger sense of motivation but you also already feel accomplished! Instead of believing this is who you will be after you achieve said goal, you believe it is who you are and who you are going to become.

WRITE DOWN A GOAL

Let’s say your goal is, “I am going to lose 20 pounds in 2020.”

AFFIRMATION

Write down an affirmation for this goal. Whatever statement you want this to be, make sure you write down the most powerful version of it. Since the goal here is to lost 20 pounds, let’s say the affirmation here is, “I am a person who deeply cares about my body and health.” NOTE: Always start your affirmations with, “I am”.

Then, start telling yourself this! Even if it is not true at the time, you will still receive clarity around this person you want to be and who they are.

CLARITY

Write the type of habits and the type of traits that the person you envision around your affirmation has. In our case, this would sound something like, “They wake up early in the morning and move their body,” or, “They eat clean 80% of the time.”

Whatever it is, you will gain clarity around who this person is! When you start to realize who this person is as you do these things, your game-changing habits also start to form!

The Result

In doing these things, you go from a person who sets goals to a person who accomplishes goals. You go from being someone who is a goal setter to someone who accomplishes the goal before you even start the systems and habits towards it! You perform from the mindset and the power of knowing you are that person and that you have the ability and the power to get there before you even get there.

This isn’t just for big goals, friend. It’s for every goal! This is such a powerful tool to make sure your mind is in the right place to check off those goals. And trust me, when you perform from this mindset, your confidence SOARS!
